A Vote For The Stroboscope Is A Vote For Fun!
Hello again! This episode was the first that I created in 2009. I had originally intended it for the U.S. elections in November 2008 – but as you know, sometimes things don’t go according to plan. By the time I had finished it, in February, Barack Obama‘s inauguration had happened. Ah well, better late…
I rounded up some political tunes from the collection. No straight-forward examples of ‘protest songs’ in the mix…I avoided lots of folk stuff, early Dylan and that. Enjoy!
The tracklist for this one is:
Intro
Alice Cooper – Elected (from the “Billion Dollar Babies” album – released in 1972)
Parliament – Chocolate City (from the album of the same name – rel. in 1975)
Matching Mole – Starting In The Middle Of The Day, We Can Drink Our Politics Away (from the “little Red Record” album – rel. 1972)
